Whitney: I'm definitely going to look her up! Thanks for the rec.

Brian: You know, people receive my photographer in a similar way--the pictures I am not as happy about always get the most attention! Maybe it's just one of those weird laws of the universe.

I have always had a weird relationship with poetry myself. I like reading it. I write a ton of it, all the time, but I hate doing it, but it seems to get the most attention from other people of anything I write???

I have only sold a few things prose wise or maybe I should say script wise but I have sold a lot of poems to bands and such to use in songs. But I still hate writing poems and never revisit a poem.

You should check out Sharon Olds too. I really love her poetry and I've had similar feelings as you towards a lot of poets.

Her book The Wellspring is incredible.
