Ooh, cool! I’m impressed that you had the forethought to take photos. It was a little chilly outside here, I can’t even imagine what it was like for you – I hope you are nice and warm now!

Thanks, bb! You know, I have never taken night shots really so I’m happy that you can tell it’s a picture of the moon, heh. But I AM STILL COLD! I HAVE LEFTOVER COLD SHIVERS!!! Next lunar eclipse that happens in the winter, I am coming over to where you are. Just so you know.

We had a great view of the eclipse–it was well worth it to see. We were lucky, weather-wise; it’s in the pluses here in Cow Town.

You captured some beautiful photos. I loved it when the moon turned a rusty orange–magnifico!

Thank you, Angela! I loved that too… I guess there won’t be another lunar eclipse for 3 years, or so I read (I could be wrong). It was nice to see it! I am jealous of your weather. My hands are still cold!!

Awesome photos, Courtney! Love them! We tried viewing the lunar eclipse but it was covered by clouds most of the evening. Seeing your photos is such a treat. Thanks for sharing!

P.S. How do you create this anti-spam comment form on WP?

Thanks, Edna! I’m glad you enjoyed them–sorry the weather wasn’t co-operating with you–that’s how I missed the comets that happened last summer.

The anti-spam comment form is a plug-in that can be found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/peters-custom-anti-spam-image/
I am running an older version (I can’t find a download to it atm) so I can’t vouch for the new one. Hope that helps!

Niiiiiiice photos! My poor lil’ video camera just couldn’t zoom in on it. It was like “I can’t do this! It’s too far!” and I was like “Come on! It’s only 238,855 miles!”

At least I didn’t freeze myself watching–it was about 55 out at the time. Okay, now I’m bragging.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the pics!

Susan, thanks! I’m glad to see people posting pics of the eclipse and I enjoyed yours!! & Digital cameras should be able to compensate for that distance, I think! It’s not an unreasonable thing to expect of them. I had to run back in and get my zoom lens (which isn’t very zoomy at all) and the thing has the shakiest hold on focus ever, but ah well.

    *jealous of your 55*

That picture has officially BLOWN MY TINY MIND, just so you know. I’ll be sending you the bill for the repairs. Srsly.

We had an eclipse here last year (in summer thank God), but it was fantastic…I’d never seen a Devil Moon before, but it is very creepy.

  12. 3 years, 11 months ago

nova: thank you x 3! the moon did all the work!

A: well. I would be lying if I said blowing your mind totally didn’t make me smile because it DID. Me and the moon extend our apologies. ;)

Briony: Even your winters though, are a little milder, aren’t they? ;) It’s a horror movie moon!

Excellent photos (this post and the one above). Ha! The moon did all the work. Haha!

no eclipse down here. darn planetary axis.

Danette: Thank you! I hear the moon gets totally mad if you don’t give it proper credit. I do not want to get it mad enough to throw off our gravitational pull!

    Kelvin: darn it indeed!
