I was rifling through old photographs and found these…

… And have come to the conclusion I need to find the photographic spark that drove me to take photographs outside in the freezing, blustering cold with no jacket or mittens on because I would like to be that photographer again.
At least I think I would.
Admittedly, I have grown to love inside, being warm and wearing appropriate cold-weather clothes very much since these photos were taken.

These are so cool and I loved the eclipse one from last night as well (I couldn’t bring myself to leave the warmth of my apartment and go and search out the moon myself – damn it was freezing last night!).
These are gorgeous! Your style is soooooo . . . funky cool.
I remember some of your early early photos! Not these — which are awesome, btw, the colours, geez — but some others that you don’t have up on flickr or anything anymore. When I found you again, I immediately went looking for them and was all, *sniffle*!
C.K.: Thank you! & oh my God, I don’t blame you. I don’t know what I was thinking, I was cold for an hour afterwards. I was only out there 15 minutes when my camera battery started draining. Nikon also hates the cold. Nikon is smart.
Susan: Thank you!!!
A: Aw, they are hidden away. Hah (& thank you!). One thing that struck me was how much more unafraid I was with the camera! I totally put myself out there. It makes me sad because now I have a more closed off relationship with the thing. I’ll have to work on that. Maybe. Maybe I’ll get the courage to post all those old photos. :)
Fabulous – I particularly like the first photograph.
Okay. I just saw your tiny little ‘subtitle’ under your name and I just about burst out laughing.
Too, too funny.
that “spark” could also have been called clinical psychosis, y’know, because wanting to be outside in the cold with no jacket or mitten is just plain crazy!
cate: thank you!
TKT: hee. i try! yo.
kelvin: THIS IS TRUE. in canada, no less!
