So the other day I was sitting outside with my sister and I saw this:

It is a teeny frog! It was so cute. I have named it Teeny. I don’t know where Teeny is anymore, though. Shortly after I took his picture, he hopped away. I think about him at night sometimes.
Godspeed, Teeny.
Anyway, things here are pretty quiet and I am woefully behind in getting back to people about stuff. Canadian Thanksgiving is coming up which means food! Also giving thanks. And I hear we’re having an election next Tuesday. I made a promise to keep most politics off my blog, so I will refrain from telling you that I am voting Liberal. Meanwhile, I am doing the writing thing.
(Blog topics, I needs them!!!)
Cracked Up to Be round-up: the trailer can be found on bookscreening.com–bookscreening is a regular visit of mine because I think I’ve made it clear my life depends on watching book trailers–and was also briefly featured on veoh’s front page (it’s down now, but Daisy Whitney and my twitter pals witnessed it, I swear)!
Michelle reminded me that Cracked Up to Be is also in this Library Journal article about tracking down first fiction of 2008 (like I said, my book is a Time Lord). Scroll way down the list of forthcoming debuts and it is one of the two books under ‘Canada.’ You also still have time to enter my Last Lazy Galley Giveaway, AND, tonight while google-stalking myself (what), I discovered Cracked Up To Be is part of LibraryThing’s Early Reviewers program. If you’re a member of LibraryThing, you can request an ARC under the stipulation you review it, I guess! Check out the rules to see if you’re eligible etc. It’s over here.
If you are sick of all that Cracked Up to Be talk, I suggest taking a breather from it by reading the first two chapters of C.K. Kelly Martin’s upcoming release, One Lonely Degree. They are amazing.

Awww, Teeny and Courtney are Friends. Or, were. Teeny has no idea he’s been blogged about. Oh no, I wrote globbed twice while trying to say blogged. Does that mean Teeny was globbed up? Num.
JK, Teeny!! I SWEAR!
Well, it has been awhile since you VLOGGED… otherwise, I recommend blogs related to your current working title? YOUR PUBLIC NEEDS TO KNOW.
Aww, that’s a beautiful l’il frog. I hope he’s doing okay out there. Do frogs hibernate in winter? Maybe Teeny is travelling while he has the chance.
Way to go on the Library Journal mention! Not only is your book a Time Lord but it’s part of Team Canada!
I’m glad you refrained from telling us you’re voting Liberal. As you know, I also like to remain mum on politics ;)
Thanks for linking to One Lonely Degree – hee :) I’m so glad you liked it!
you are so frickin’ adorable. Teeny Summers. sigh.
Wow– I applied over at Library Thing, but did you notice yours has more requests than anybody else’s? You go “Cracked Up To Be”!
Also– frogs– Yes, very tiny, and perfect and delicate and cool. (and weirdly their bodies look like human baby’s bodies… and kind of feel like them too… except not as warm.)
I love frogs…so cute. I still feel bad about the one my mom caught with a mower…lost a leg but kept on truckin’, tho.
Teeny is so cute! And I love the effect with the netting and the background. Very cool picture.
Thanks for the link to C.K.’s chapters – I didn’t know she had them posted :0)
You could post more cool pictures and blog on that. The teeny froggy is very cool. And pumpkin seeds. And what you’re working on now, or the revision process, or why Martians live among us and nobody knows (sorry, it’s late and I’m getting loopy from lack of sleep, so I should probably go now…zzzzzzzz
(0_0) Suddenly wide awake. What if Edward is watching me? Or the guy from Pushing Daisies. He totally said he missed watching the chick sleep – ugh, not another sleep stalker, they’re everywere, they’re everywhere!
(Apparently your “Edward sleep stalking story” will be with me for a looooong time, but the sleep stalking thing totally creeped me out, way before your cute emoticon story.)
I’m getting out the anti-vampire charms, closing the shades, and going to sleep now! (-_-) zzzzzz
Emily: While I was taking Teeny’s picture, I was like, “YOU COOL IF I BLOG THIS?” And he gave me a thumbs-up. I wish *sniff* he was still around to see it. OH YEAH… vlogging… *cough*
C.K.: I don’t know if they hibernate! Good question. But because Teeny has been adopted by the Summerses, he will survive. Summerses are ~fighters~! And thanks & yeah, I like how neutral and subtle we are about the politics. ;) And I didn’t just like the chapters, I LOVED THEM! PS: Happy Thanksgiving!!
Whitney: hee.
Pseudosu: Heh, there are quite a few leading the requests but I’m pretty heartened by the #! I am also pretending that they are all going to buy a copy when it comes out. I hope you snag one!! Then I know the book will be in good hands. :D
Angela: Awwwww. He lived a long life with three legs, I have decreed it.
Sruble: Thank you!! And I hope you dig the first two chapters of 1LD. I LOVED them! I can’t wait for the book to come out! YOUR BLOG TOPIC SUGGESTIONS ARE LE AWESOME. I am pencilling them all down. I should take more photos. My camera is sadly neglected. And if you feel like Edward is watching you IT IS BECAUSE HE IS *OMINOUS MUSIC*. Omg, what is this epidemic with sleepstalkers, it is freaking me out!! I hope your anti-vampire charms ~protected you~!!
P.F. Caterpillar could kick Teeny’s butt.
I nearly choked on my pomegranate tea-juice when I read, “[M]y book is a Time Lord.” Had I spat out said juice, you could have said, “EXTERMINATE!”
Sandmore: POSSIBLY. I cannot risk Teeny’s life to find out!
LW: Hee, that would’ve been PERFECT!
I just read the excerpt and damn it, I have yet ANOTHER book to add to my (imaginary) pile. What is UP with all the awesome YA that’s coming out?
Aw! So cute! And now nature geek is going to kick in. Teeny Summers is a spring peeper and that’s how big they get.
And now I’ve redeemed myself. My Mom was out for a walk yesterday and saw a teeny red snake. She took a great photo of it but I still couldn’t identify it. I mean, there’s only a few types of snakes around here so how hard could it be? So thank you for giving me the chance to keep my nature geek crown.
Annika: It’s the ~Golden Age~ of YA!!
HB: AAH! THANK YOU! We have been scratching our head trying to figure out what Teeny was and I looked up a bunch of variations of uh, small, baby frogs so. Aaah! I should’ve known I knew someone clever enough to know what it is. You totally keep the crown!! Thank you!!
I love this so much.
Thank you, Vero. :D
