Sandmore: It is one of the best parts about being Canadian. Slurpin' milk out of a bag. And you're so right... time has not been kind to Freddy! He has totally lost his edge! Happy (belated) Canada today to you to ~*~

Fi: You SHOULD try milk in a bag! It's wonderful! You put it in the container and then you cut a teeny corner off the bag and then you pour that way. Return to fridge to keep it cool. It's an experience!!!

Michael: So cool! I would love to celebrate Canada Day in the UK. Sounds lovely!!!

I attended the Canada Day celebrations here in London (UK). They get bigger every year. Very hot day with lots of Bison Burgers to eat and Sleemans Honey Brown (a real beer!) to drink.
It was held in Trafalgar Square outside Canada House in central London and was a very Canadian affair. What I mean is, there was no fighting, no yobs, no one threw cans at the stage (not even when the choir from Surry, BC sang) - it was all rather nice a well behaved. Not like being in London at all!

I was so excited I 'added my two cents' before I was really ready. It IS possible to buy milk in bags in the UK, in one supermarket. The aim is that the bags are more environmentally friendly and you decant your milk into a special jug bought especially for the milk purpose. The jug fits nicely in the fridge, the milk bag biodegrades or something.

But. I have never actually purchased milk in a bag and it sounds like this is a much more established tradition in Canada, eh. How does one pour milk from the milk bag? This is really very intriguing to me.... Does it have a spout of some description?

Oh, to be Canadian and slurp milk outta a bag.

For a second there, I thought that jerk Freddy (or is that Jason?) was dressed like a mountie (note the U--I could have written "montie" by law of the US). Then I realized that he is dressed as Indiana Jones but he's ruined the effect with a red sweater (probably his mother made him--mothers always ruin your Halloween costumes).

I'm also kind of amazed at how non-scary our "ooooooh, it's so scary!" stuff looks now, by today's standards. I mean, a red wooly crewneck--it's like he's Bill Cosby with a slight skin condition. We used to just chase people with chainsaws--now I've heard they actually saw up the actors or people want their money back.

Happy Canada Day, Courts.

Briony: MILKBAGS! You must ask your friend about them. They are truly a sight to behold. I can't really wrap my head around anyone using a jug. Bags! They are so convenient! You must come to Canada so I can show you them.

Victoria: <3

Sue: HAH! I love that: "How y'all doin', eh?" That is like the best thing I have ever heard. My Uncle is Canadian born & raised and now lives in Texas. I wonder if he does the same...

Whitney: omg! BB, you put the bag in the bag shaped container and then snip off the corner of the bag and it needs never get contaminated! And I have never had Three Cheese Ranch salad dressing... WHAT HAVE I MISSED OUT ON? I am not too good for Three Cheese Ranch dressing. :( CANADA LOVES YOU, BB.

Susan: I SPEAK TRUTH. I NEVER LIE ABOUT THESE THINGS. I NEVAH LIE PERIOD.

Anna: hee, you get the bag of milk and then you put it upright in a little container, a bag holding container if you will. And THEN you make a small snip in the corner of the bag and pour from there? Does that make sense? I WILL HAVE TO FIND A PICTURE...

Annika: I choose to believe that is how FIERCE YOU ARE.

Oslowe: omg. Ginger Snaps. FTW.

C.K.: The first one didn't go through! Cursed computers! And you know... I've been thinking that maybe I'm too hard on Freddy. If I had those knifey hands, I'd probably brag it all up to. Oh, who am I kidding. He's a jerk. And hee--"multi-talented eccentric author." <- if I introduced myself like that would I be as show-offy as Freddy? And! I missed the CG and TPB marathons! But that is so fitting for Canada. I hope you got some in before Stargate. We had some Stargate watchin' going on later in the day (the movies). AND I MUST KNOW IF THE MAGIC GARDEN WORKED. Your Canada Day pwns.

Tiffany: YOU ARE RIGHT. I FORGOT LOONIES AND TOONIES. /bad Canadian Happy Canada Day, bb!

I have had bagged milk. It tastes the same. No mention of money with fun names? Or Anne of Green Gables? (Okay, even though I vacationed in Canada for my entire childhood, I know disturbingly few facts to flesh out this comment). Bad Tiffany! Happy Canada Day! *raises Maple leaf flag* *searches for A of GG straw hat with attached red braids*

Argh. My computer doesn't seem to want me to post today. Please excuse if this is a duplicate but I don't think the first one went through.

No Smarties in the U.S.A., that's tragic - I had no idea. You're right, Freddy's a jerk, always showing off with those knife-glove things of his.

I think photos based on horror movies would be cool, provided no one has to die, of course. You can tell your neighbours that you're a multi-talented eccentric author and maybe they'll offer to help you out and let you shoot snaps in their yard.

There are Corner Gas and Trailer Park Boys marathons on today so, since the weather's going to be sucky I'll probably see a bit of those and then later some Stargate (the obsession's still going strong...).

We also have this weird Magic Garden thing (made in Taiwan) we picked up for 6.99 that we're going to try today too. Supposedly you pour this magic solution in and it blossoms fully in ten hours. I know...it sounds weird. I'm fully expecting the solution will cause hallucations and that I'll have a vision that I'm helping Bubbles collect carts in space while we try to evade the wraith. But what better way to enjoy Canada Day, right?

Have a great one, Courtney!

Since I'm going to be celebrating October with Jason Vorhees, I figure I'll celebrate Canada Day with. Um. *looks around desperately* Prenatal Yoga. Yes, that's right. That is how FIERCE I am. (Or it is the only DVD in my eyeline without standing up. You decide.)
