Fi: You SHOULD try milk in a bag! It’s wonderful! You put it in the container and then you cut a teeny corner off the bag and then you pour that way. Return to fridge to keep it cool. It’s an experience!!!

Michael: So cool! I would love to celebrate Canada Day in the UK. Sounds lovely!!!

But. I have never actually purchased milk in a bag and it sounds like this is a much more established tradition in Canada, eh. How does one pour milk from the milk bag? This is really very intriguing to me…. Does it have a spout of some description?

For a second there, I thought that jerk Freddy (or is that Jason?) was dressed like a mountie (note the U–I could have written “montie” by law of the US). Then I realized that he is dressed as Indiana Jones but he’s ruined the effect with a red sweater (probably his mother made him–mothers always ruin your Halloween costumes).

I’m also kind of amazed at how non-scary our “ooooooh, it’s so scary!” stuff looks now, by today’s standards. I mean, a red wooly crewneck–it’s like he’s Bill Cosby with a slight skin condition. We used to just chase people with chainsaws–now I’ve heard they actually saw up the actors or people want their money back.

Anna: hee, you get the bag of milk and then you put it upright in a little container, a bag holding container if you will. And THEN you make a small snip in the corner of the bag and pour from there? Does that make sense? I WILL HAVE TO FIND A PICTURE…

But that is so fitting for Canada. I hope you got some in before Stargate. We had some Stargate watchin’ going on later in the day (the movies). AND I MUST KNOW IF THE MAGIC GARDEN WORKED. No Smarties in the U.S.A., that’s tragic – I had no idea. You’re right, Freddy’s a jerk, always showing off with those knife-glove things of his.

I think photos based on horror movies would be cool, provided no one has to die, of course. You can tell your neighbours that you’re a multi-talented eccentric author and maybe they’ll offer to help you out and let you shoot snaps in their yard.

There are Corner Gas and Trailer Park Boys marathons on today so, since the weather’s going to be sucky I’ll probably see a bit of those and then later some Stargate (the obsession’s still going strong…).

We also have this weird Magic Garden thing (made in Taiwan) we picked up for 6.99 that we’re going to try today too. Supposedly you pour this magic solution in and it blossoms fully in ten hours. I know…it sounds weird. I’m fully expecting the solution will cause hallucations and that I’ll have a vision that I’m helping Bubbles collect carts in space while we try to evade the wraith. But what better way to enjoy Canada Day, right?
